Six signs of pre-term labor

Babies born too early can have serious health problems. Some signs that you may be going into early labor include:

  • Contractions (your stomach tightens) every 10 minutes or more often.
  • Lower back pain.
  • Cramps that feel like your period.
  • Stomach cramps with or without diarrhea.
  • The feeling that your baby is pushing down.
  • Vaginal bleeding.

Call your doctor or go to the hospital right away if you think you are having pre-term labor. You can also call Parkland’s Nurse Line 24 hours a day at 214.266.8777 for questions about your pregnancy.
