The New Parkland
The new 2.1 million-square-foot hospital opened its doors on August 20, 2015. At nearly twice the size of the old hospital, the new LEED® Gold Certified Parkland has been designed to meet the ever-changing needs of Dallas County – one of the largest and fastest-growing regions in the country. The new hospital cares for patients in 870 beds, adding desperately needed space in critical areas such as the emergency room, operating room, burn center and neonatal intensive care unit.
The new campus also promotes an environment of healing by incorporating much needed patient and family space, all-single patient rooms, natural lighting and a wellness garden.
