About The CROWN Project
As part of Parkland’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care, the CROWN (Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair) Project supports the hygiene and personal care needs of hospitalized adults with textured hair. This initiative aligns with Parkland’s strategic plan by advancing practical improvements that contribute to patient comfort, well-being, and dignity.
The project includes training for nursing staff on effective textured hair care techniques and provides patients with access to appropriate hair care kits and scalp treatments. By addressing an often-overlooked element of inpatient care, the CROWN Project helps foster a more individualized and clinically responsive care environment.
