VIP / Rape Crisis Center Internships

The Victim Intervention Program (VIP)/Rape Crisis Center at Parkland helps those who have experienced violence. We provide crisis support, counseling and advocacy. Services are offered to women, men, teens and children 4 years and older who live in Dallas County.

You can help change the lives of the victims of sexual assault, child abuse and family violence who seek help from the Victim Intervention Program (VIP)/Rape Crisis Center.

Interns play an important role at the VIP/Rape Crisis Center. Our internship program provides opportunities for graduate and post-graduate level interns to gain experience working with victims of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault. Interns learn about assessment, clinical interventions and documentation.

We offer two types of internships
  1. Graduate students: Students from counseling or social work graduate programs complete internship requirements.
  2. Post-master’s-level interns: Those who have LPC-I or LMSW status receive weekly supervision at no cost in exchange for at least five direct client contact hours.
