Parkland’s trauma center has a rich history that is well-known throughout the medical community. We have developed procedures that help save lives all over the world and we have trained some of the best trauma doctors working at facilities across the country. We have now taken that history of innovative, high quality care to a new state-of-the-art trauma center - The Parkland’s Rees-Jones Trauma Center, which opened in August of 2015.

Parkland Health was certified as a Level I Trauma Center in March of 1983, the first hospital in the state of Texas to achieve this status. Trauma Centers must complete re-verification site visits and state designation reviews every three years. Parkland’s Trauma Center surgeons have all completed trauma fellowships are board certified in both surgery and critical care. This is a significant advantage for the critically injured patient. This level of trauma surgery knowledge, expertise and commitment sets Parkland apart from other trauma centers.
