State-of-the-art gas alarm systems enhance patient safety
Specialized medical gas systems at the new Parkland use the latest technology to monitor different medical gas levels through the facility. These systems are essential for delivering gases, such as oxygen, nitrous oxide and medical air to various parts of the hospital, especially critical care areas.
Digital LCD displays monitor the pressure status of eight different medical gases used for patient care, including during surgery, for anesthesia and to help patients breathe easier. The gas systems will be tailored to the needs of each area with sensors that monitor the pressure status. If a sensor detects a pressure too high or too low for a certain gas, the displays will give both a visual and noise alarm until the problem is fixed.
These digital gas alarms are more reliable and easier to read than previous analog displays. The brightness and volume can be adjusted if the environment calls for it, such as in a dimly lit room or a loud area where an alarm’s volume would need to be increased to be heard.
The digital displays used at new Parkland are also the smallest in the industry and can self-diagnose, ensuring that medical gas levels always remain safe for patients in our care.
