Parkland offers flu vaccine at 'Walk-in Wednesday' clinics

North Dallas Gazette, KRLD-AM and KUVN-TV (Univision 23) reported how Parkland provides Dallas County residents the best possible defense against the flu by offering flu vaccines without having to make an appointment every Wednesday during fall and winter months. People may also call 214.266.4000 to schedule a day and time that may be more convenient for them.

Parkland celebrates 50th anniversary of Texas' first kidney transplant

Transplant patients gathered at Parkland on November 5 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first kidney transplant in North Texas. KDAF-TV (CW 33) reported that Parkland has performed transplants for more than 2,000 patients since the first operation in 1964.

Doctor's gift to new Parkland honored

KDFW-TV (Fox 4) featured Dr. Kevin Johnson, who donated to Parkland in memory of his twin brother, Kelvin. In recognition of his gift, one of the gardens at the new Parkland hospital will be named the Kevin and Kelvin Johnson Twin Chapel Garden, a place where everyone can find a place of faith, hope and peace.

Parkland's VIP/Rape Crisis Center featured on KRLD

Parkland's VIP/ Rape Crisis Center offers services for those who are victimized, including counseling, emotional support and information on the effects of mental or physical abuse. Melissa Reilly, director of VIP/Rape Crisis Center, consulted KRLD-AM on the center's mission and how they help those who have experienced violence.
