Advanced Burn Life Support Provider Course

Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) is a one-day course designed to teach providers, nurses, and paramedics how to assess and manage a severely burned patient during the first 24 hours post-injury.
Following a series of lectures, case studies are presented for group discussions.
Course lectures include:
- Initial Assessment & Management
- Airway Management and Smoke Inhalation Injury
- Shock & Fluid Resuscitation
- Burn Wound Management
- Electrical Injury
- Chemical Burns
- Pediatric Burn Injuries
- Stabilization, Transfer & Transport
- Disaster Management and the ABA Plan
Attendees will also have the opportunity to work with a simulated burn patient to reinforce the assessment, stabilization, and the American Burn Association transfer criteria to a Burn Center.
Testing consists of a written exam and a practical assessment.
