We can end HIV/AIDS
12/27/2021
Did you know we can end HIV/AIDS? The goal of HIV treatment is to lower the amount of HIV in the body (viral suppression). When someone’s HIV is suppressed to undetectable, they cannot transmit the virus to another person.
3 tips to lowering the amount of HIV in the body and having a healthy sex life:
1.Take HIV medications daily as prescribed by your doctor.
2.Go to all of your doctor appointments.
3. Lower your chances of getting sexually transmitted infections (STIs) by wearing condoms.
Treatment is prevention
Every year, 4,800 clients living with HIV achieve and maintain viral suppression (undetectable status) as a result of the services provided by Parkland’s HIV Services Department.
