Ricardo Lopez, RD, talked to KUVN-TV (Univision) about food duos that are better together.

Early detection is key

As part of breast cancer awareness month, Phil Evans, MD discussed risk factors for breast cancer with KTXA-TV (CBS) and stressed the importance of early detection screenings with Al Día. He also shared information about Parkland’s no-cost screening mammograms with Black Press USA.

Interpreters positively impact stroke patients

According to the American Heart Association News, studies show that for stroke patients who do not speak English proficiently, medical interpreters play a critical role in their healing and health. The AHA News shared information and experiences from Parkland neurologist Alejandro Magadán, MD, and Cruz Ramirez, a Parkland interpreter.

Harnessing telehealth to reach more

Children’s Health Fund CEO Dennis Walto shared how Parkland is using telehealth to make affordable healthcare more accessible. The program is currently offered by Parkland’s Homeless Outreach Medical Services and will soon expand to other clinics.
