Philanthropists celebrate $40M+ funding for Parkland's Moody Center for Breast Health

The fundraising for Parkland's Moody Center for Breast Health surpassed the $40M campaign goal. As reported by My Sweet Charity, the campaign will build a new and much needed breast health center at Parkland.

Parkland and other Dallas County ERs work together

A Parkland initiative involving a number of multidisciplinary care team of doctors, nurses, social workers and chaplains has dramatically reduced the high number of ER visits by some patients. It began with research led by Esmaeil Porsa, MD, Parkland's Chief Strategy and Integration Officer, to find out why these patients used the ER so frequently. Reported by WFAA-TV (ABC), the team found that 80 patients who collectively visited four Dallas County ERs 5,139 times in just 12 months had one surprising thing in common - loneliness.

Dysmorphia caused by Snapchat filters

Parkland psychologist Angela Hill, Psy. D., spoke to KDFW-TV (FOX)about how dysmorphia caused by Snapchat is becoming an emotional problem. Wanting Snapchat filter-like features is an obsession for some and plastic surgeons nationwide are hearing about it.

Parkland to build new outpatient clinic

Reported by HC+O News, Parkland is expanding its campus with a six-floor outpatient clinic; encompassing laboratories, offices and examination and treatment spaces.

Parkland Burn Unit continues to set the standards

Parkland's burn formula is used worldwide and even referenced in shows like ER and Grey's Anatomy. Christine Lane, RN, Parkland's Burn Center Unit Manager, and Stephanie Campbell, RN, Parkand's Burn Program Manager, spoke to Preston Hollow People about Parkland's world renowned standard of burn care.
