Prom at Parkland

When a 19-year-old student missed his prom crowning because of major surgery, nurses at Parkland's Neurology unit helped throw a makeshift prom at the hospital. WFAA-TV (ABC), Dayton Daily News and KYTX-TV (CBS) reported on the heart-warming story of how classmates surprised the Grapevine High School student with the prom king crown at Parkland.

Moody Foundation gifts millions for Parkland breast center

The Moody Foundation granted $15 million to help create a new breast health center at Parkland, reported The Dallas Morning News, D CEO Healthcare, KXAS-TV (NBC) and Philanthropy News Digest. The new center will bring screenings, diagnostics and treatment to one place, making it easier for patients to get the timely care they need.

A trauma patient herself six years ago at Parkland, Savannah Fortner, RN, now cares for trauma patients who come to Parkland's ER. KDFW-TV (FOX) and KSKY-AM shared her remarkable story of how the care she received at Parkland inspired her to want to do the same for others.

Exercise for a healthy mind

You know that exercise is good for your body but Margaret Bryant, physical therapist at Parkland, told KERA-FM and WFAA-TV (ABC) that regular exercise, such as walking and meditation, also plays a role in keeping your mind healthy and contributing to overall mental well-being.
