Parkland delivers its third set of quintuplets

On June 17, Parkland staff welcomed quintuplets Vianca, Perrin, Alessandra, Noah and Scarlett as Ofa and Rex Clark's family grew from two to seven in a span of four minutes. WFAA-TV (ABC 8) reported that it took weeks of planning and 50 of Parkland's professionals to bring the babies safely into the world. KDFW-TV (FOX 4) and The Dallas Morning News also covered the story.

Healthcare Design touts new Parkland's comforts for patient families and visitors.

Each patient room in the new Parkland, set to open in 2015, has a dedicated family area that includes comfortable seating, a rollout sofa and individual lighting controls. Healthcare Design reported these and other features, including more dedicated family day rooms at the end of patient hallways.

Avoid dehydration with Parkland doctor's advice

Dr. Alexander Eastman, interim disaster management and trauma medical director at Parkland, explained to KERA-FM how to guard against dehydration during the summer months.

Parkland promotes summer car safety

KXAS-TV (NBC 5) spoke to Shelli Stephens-Stidham, director of the Injury Prevention Center of Greater Dallas, about travelling safely by car in the summer heat. She stressed that the heat inside an inactive, closed car can increase by 20 to 30 degrees in less than 10 minutes.

Parkland's Camp CHAMPS offers fun, healthy learning

Parkland's Camp CHAMPS, a free summer camp that teaches kids to make healthy choices every day, was featured on KXTX-TV (Telemundo 39). Lessons include the health risks of being overweight, how to read a food label, the benefits of exercise and more.
