At Parkland, we understand how critical the minutes and hours after a stroke can be to a patient’s recovery. As a DNV Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, we are dedicated to providing the highest level of care. We have highly trained stroke experts on call 24/7, ready and committed to providing comprehensive quality care to meet the individual needs of each patient.
Our stroke treatment includes 3 designated units for stroke patients, Neurosciences Acute Care, Surgical Neuro Progressive Care (PCU) and Neurosciences Intensive Care (ICU) Unit. Patients receive around-the-clock care by compassionate and experienced doctors, stroke neurologists, surgeons, radiologists and skilled stroke specialists.

Signs and Symptoms
Remember BEFAST to help you recognize a stroke and know the symptoms:
- Balance: Do you have a sudden loss of balance?
- Eyes: Do they have a sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes?
- Face: When they smile, does one side of their face droop?
- Arm Drift: When they raise both arms, does one arm drift downward?
- Slurred Speech: When they repeat a sentence, are any of the words slurred?
- Time is Key: Get help immediately.
