Delivering Your Baby at Parkland

Parkland’s Labor & Delivery offers state-of-the-art services from maternal fetal medicine specialists. Routine care is provided by certified nurse midwives and nurse practitioners in a setting where each mom’s labor, delivery and recovery takes place in the same comfortable location.

Labor epidurals are available for women who desire this form of pain management during labor. Additionally, highly trained infant resuscitation teams are available 24 hours a day for babies who need extra attention in the delivery room.

Parkland has seven dedicated operating rooms for women who require a C-section at the time of delivery. Our Labor and Delivery staff can be reached 24 hours a day for any questions or concerns you may have about your pregnancy. If you believe you are in labor or you are experiencing pain, you are always welcome to come to the hospital at any time.

Each of the private labor and delivery rooms feature spacious private bathrooms with walk-in showers, a fold-out couch for visitors, flat-screen TVs for entertainment and a new patient education system. The private rooms are designed with soothing colors and large windows to foster a relaxing environment for expectant mothers.
