Pharmacy Residency (PGY1)
Post Natal Nurse Home Visitor Program

Infectious Diseases (PGY2)

The 12-month Post-Graduate Year 2 (PGY2) Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency Program focuses on the development and management of clinical skills to enhance multi-disciplinary and pharmacist-managed patient care in all areas of infectious diseases. Pharmacists completing this residency will be specialists in providing pharmaceutical care within multiple inpatient and ambulatory care environments, including inpatient consult services, antimicrobial stewardship, ambulatory HIV/HCV, and outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT).

The PGY2 Infectious Diseases residency program offers a range of advanced clinical experiences designed to strengthen the resident’s knowledge and skills in infectious diseases pharmacotherapy. Emphasis is placed on advancing clinical judgment, promoting practice development and cultivating the resident’s role as a key contributor to patient-centered, evidence-based care.

The PGY2 Infectious Diseases (ID) residency program is designed to cultivate the resident’s clinical expertise across diverse areas of infectious diseases within the Parkland Health. Core learning experiences include general ID consults, inpatient and outpatient HIV care, penicillin allergy skin testing, antimicrobial stewardship and outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) with a focus on transitions of care.
