Smoking Cessation

What is Smoking Cessation?
Smoking Cessation is the act of trying to stop smoking, chewing/dipping, or vaping. Nicotine can be very addicting and can make it very hard to quit without help. Some people have withdrawal symptoms when they try to quit.

Why should I quit?
Stopping nicotine can improve your health, no matter how old you are or how long you have used it.

Some important benefits include:

  • Decreasing risk of stroke
  • Saving money
  • Better blood flow
  • Longer life
  • Lower risk for cancer

What if I do not quit?
People who use nicotine are more likely to:

  • Go blind
  • Lose hearing
  • Have bad breath and smelly hair
  • Have bad teeth
  • Have heart disease
  • Have diabetes
  • Have lung disease
  • Take longer to heal
