Community Outreach Programs

Community Outreach strives to reduce stigma and improve access to care. Community Outreach offers classes, access to no-cost screening services and works with the community to improve people’s health.

Mental healthcare is important, yet many people from racial and ethnic minority groups have trouble getting the care they need. This can be due to problems with health insurance, finding a provider they feel comfortable with, being able to afford care and stigma.

Mental health stigma is nothing new. Many people living with mental health issues do not feel comfortable talking with their friends and family about their mental health. The sense of stigma makes it hard for some people to seek mental healthcare, even though treatment could help them with their mental health problems. Community Outreach works within the community to partner with other services and resources that help people get the care they need.

Community Outreach works to raise awareness in our community for how important mental health is and to help patients be part of their own healing.
