Integrated Behavioral Health

The term behavioral health includes factors that can affect medical illnesses and overall health and wellbeing:

  • Mental health concerns (anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, ADHD, behavior concerns in children)
  • Challenging life situations or changes at home, school, or work
  • Stress-related physical symptoms (headaches, stomachaches, chronic pain)
  • Health behaviors like exercise, taking medication, sleep, and healthful eating

Integrated behavioral health care offers medical and behavioral health care at your primary care office, sometimes at the same time. Behavioral health consultants and your primary care team work together to teach you the skills you need for a healthier life no matter your age. Integrated behavioral health aims to care for the “whole person”, body and mind and to encourage patients to take an active role in their own healthcare.
