Did you know that if you don’t drink enough water it can affect your brain? Water is important for keeping your brain healthy. Parkland brain doctors say staying hydrated with water can help you think faster and remember things better.
When you don’t drink enough water, you may:
- Feel more depressed.
- Become angry.
- Get a very bad headache (migraine).
- Become confused.
How much water do you need every day? Parkland doctors say about 80 ounces or 10, eight-ounce glasses of water each day. When it’s very hot outside, your body can lose water more quickly, so drinking water throughout the day is important.
Being a little dehydrated is easy to fix, but getting very dehydrated, such as passing out, is a sign to get medical help right away.
