Parkland to offer free tax prep for qualifying Dallas County residents and employees

Together with Foundation Communities, Parkland will offer 8 ‘Tax Prep Tuesday’ events

Tax season is nearing, and Parkland Health is partnering with Foundation Communities to offer free tax preparation services every Tuesday at Parkland Memorial Hospital and Parkland Community Oriented Primary Care (COPC) heath centers to low and middle-income families and individuals beginning Feb. 6 through March 26.

“Our goal with this program is to address the financial health of our Parkland population,” said Vidya Ayyr, Director of Community Social Impact at Parkland. “This is just another way we are working to improve the overall health of our patients, employees and community.”

Families and individuals making less than $60,000 annually can register for an appointment to meet with an IRS Certified Preparer who can assist with:

  • Current and prior year’s federal tax returns
  • Amendments to previously filed tax returns
  • IRS letter queries • ITIN applications and renewals
  • Tax returns for foreign students and non-U.S. residents

Dubbed “Tax Prep Tuesdays” the program will offer appointments at the following locations from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the corresponding dates:

  • Feb. 6: Parkland Memorial Hospital, 5200 Harry Hines Blvd., Dallas 75235
  • Feb. 13: Hatcher Station Health Center, 4600 Scyene Road, Dallas, 75210
  • Feb. 20: Geriatrics and Senior Care Center, 2231 Butler St., Dallas, 75235
  • Feb. 27: Bluitt-Flowers Health Center, 303 E. Overton Road, Dallas, 75216
  • March 5: Moody Outpatient Center, 5151 Maple Ave., Dallas, 75235
  • March 12: Irving Health Center, 1800 N. Britain Road, Irving, 75061
  • March 19: C.V. Roman Health Center, 3560 W. Camp Wisdom Road, Suite 100, Dallas, 75237
  • March 26: Garland Health Center, 802 Hopkins St., Garland, 75040
